John Mills

John Mills serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Citizens Bank, bringing more than 33 years of banking experience to the role. Throughout his career, he has held a variety of lending and executive leadership positions, including Chief Lending Officer, with extensive experience in commercial and community banking.

John earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Tyler and remains actively involved in the banking and East Texas communities. His leadership and community service include serving on the board of East Texas Financial Corporation, the holding company for Citizens Bank, as well as the boards of the Independent Bankers Association of Texas, Greater Texas Capital Corporation, and the East Texas Coalition. He also serves on the Kilgore Chamber Governmental Affairs Committee and the Texas Bankers Association Community Bankers Council.

John is committed to building strong relationships, supporting the communities Citizens Bank serves, and leading the bank’s continued growth and success. Outside of his professional and community commitments, he enjoys spending time with his family and being outdoors, including golfing, fishing, hunting, and enjoying all sports.
